Description
|
This
Renaissance style dining table is striking both in terms of its size (extending
to 112 inches) and its massive, pedestal design. Made of solid walnut and other hardwoods, the table is classic in
design based on architectural elements such as columns and square
mouldings. A large rosette on the outward
facing panels of the pedestal evoke the table's roots in Renaissance
design. In keeping with the traditions
of earlier centuries, the extensions of the table are unfinished because they
would always be covered with an expensive tablecloth. The extensions pull out from underneath the table and are put in
place. For chairs that match this table see 3202.
